Homeowner, Samuel, had just bought his home in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina on Aug. 11th, 2026. A previous home inspection had indicated moisture, mold and mildew issues in the crawl space. Samuel was concerned and wanted to learn more about a crawl space encapsulation system and how it can protect his new home from damage.
Samuel saw our advertisement on Google and gave us a call. We sent our design specialist, Tim, to his home for a no cost estimate on repairs. Tim confirmed there was mold, condensation and pests present in the crawl space, along with open vents that were letting the summer’s humid coastal air inside. The relative humidity was 87%. Relative humidity levels above 60% mean mold spores rapidly settle, germinate, and grow on organic materials like wood, drywall, and fabric.
Tim explained to Samuel that excess moisture in a crawl space can have negative effects on the home that could lead to damage. Tim explained further how a Crawl Space Encapsulation encompasses waterproofing, dehumidification, and vapor barrier technologies into a comprehensive solution to keep the crawl space dry and healthy. Separating home from the earth and controlling the humidity with a dehumidifier would provide Samuel with the benefit of a dry crawl space, lower energy cost, no pest infestations, no wood rot that would cause sagging floors, and he could even have storage space.
After receiving an exact price for repairs, Samuel decided to get his crawl space encapsulated and scheduled an installation date.

Mr. Issac just purchased this 3 story home in October, 2019. There was a musty smell coming from the crawl space. The crawl space had a vapor barrier put in and a dehumidifier hanging right underneath the master bedroom and it is driving them insane. The vents have been sealed, but they have been doing some research and know that it wasn't done properly and would like to have it fixed correctly.
