Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Insulation & Mold Removal and Full Encapsulation in Dunn, NC
We began the 3-day job with insulation removal and our Soda Blasting technique, which uses compressed air to blast baking soda for cleaning or striping the surface without damage, to remove the mold from the wood. The process is eco-friendly and efficient and includes sealing all vents in the house and then using a nozzle to spray the wood under the crawl space.
Mr. Smith has been having some water build up in the crawlspace because his old sump pump was broken. We installed a new SmartSump system to pump water out of the crawlspace and keep it dry when it rains. We then laid down 2,775 feet of 20 mil CleanSpace Moisture Barrier and Drainage Matting to seal the floors from water and outside conditions. 864 sq feet of SilverGlo foam insulation for the walls were added to prevent moisture and improve energy efficiency.
We placed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier in the crawl space to keep it dry and maintain the perfect level of humidity, preventing musty odors, mold growth, wood rot, and pest infestations.
And lastly, we installed two custom made crawlspace doors for easy entrance and protection.

Vent Protection
This keeps the baking soda from rising into the home while blasting the mold off the wood from below. It is harmless if it does come into the home, but can get messy if vents are not covered.
