Severe Cracks in Foundation in Jacksonville, NC

View Photo Gallery

Challenge

This foundation has stair step cracks in the concrete foundation wall, and cracks around the doors and window frames. These issues are warning signs that you have a settling foundation. Loose soil beneath the home can cause it to sink or shift. Another culprit is hydrostatic pressure, which is the force of water saturated soil pushing against the floors and foundation.

Solution

We installed six Push Piers to permanently stabilize a foundation. Hydraulic equipment pushes steel pipes into deep ground, where they reach stronger soil. Brackets connect the piers to the foundation footing. The foundation is now supported by the piers instead of weak soil, which resists further sinking or shifting of the home. In many cases the foundation can also be lifted back to its original position.
