Sub Floor Replacement in Goldston, NC

Challenge

Homeowner's Susan and Bruce from Goldston, NC had sinking floors in their bathroom due to the wooden floor below being rotted and weak. The floor had become slightly dangerous to walk upon, as there was a possibility of falling through. The tiles in entire bathroom floor were cracked and broken do to the floor sinking.

Solution

We removed and replaced the subfloor underneath the bathroom. This consisted of removing the tile and replacing 200 feet of wooden joists in the crawl space. We installed new plywood, and now Susan and Bruce have a stabilized floor which they can get new tile installed.

The wood in the crawl space was old and decaying, causing the floor above to sag. It is important to keep conditions healthy in the crawl space to reduce the chances of needing a subfloor replacement.

From the subfloor area in the crawl space, we removed the rotten wood and replaced with new wood.

We provided the top layer of plywood flooring, but we do not finish floors with new top flooring. The next step is for the customer to get new top flooring through a flooring company, or some choose to do it themselves.
